On January 17th we hosted the 6th annual Blues for the Bank concert and it was a rousing success. The concert, featuring Agent C and Top Secret, the blues band started by our very own Chris Thornley and Bruce Hayne, was held at the Central City Brewery. We are proud to share that we raised more than $3,500 for the Surrey Food Bank’s Tiny Bundles program. This is almost a 30% increase over the year prior!
It was really wonderful to see so many supporters in the audience. Perhaps you’d like to join us next year for a night of fun, great music and good friends?
The Tiny Bundles Program
Tiny Bundles is a Surrey Food Bank program specifically designed for pregnant moms and families with babies aged newborn to one year. Pregnancy and the first year of a baby’s life are critically important for healthy development. Through this program, the moms receive a food hamper as well as fresh eggs and milk while pregnant or nursing. The program helps to ensure that babies receive adequate formula, pablum and jarred baby food.
The Surrey Food Bank provides food related assistance to over 13,000 low income residents in the areas of Surrey and North Delta. Over 43% are children and babies.
