10 years ago we held our first “Blues for the Bank” at the venerable Yale hotel. It was to be a one off event to support the Surrey Food Bank’s Tiny Bundles Program. Well as the saying goes “We’re Back!” 2016 will mark our tenth concert.
Thanks to Mr. John Kearns, we will again be at the Sheraton Guildford on Saturday, January 23rd. This year we are in a new room so the site lines should be much better. Sheraton Guildford covers the cost of the room and lighting and donates a dollar from each drink sold. Our friends at Envision Financial donate the cost of the sound system, The Surrey Leader and the Surrey Board of Trade also weigh in with their promotional support. And, of course, Agent C and Top Secret will be there to get you up on your feet dancing.
There’s great music, dancing, food and drink! Tickets are only $30.00. Every penny goes to the Food Bank.
You can purchase tickets through Thornley Creative Communications by calling our office at 604-581-2827 or through the Surrey Food Bank. Hurry! Last year’s event sold out.
The Tiny Bundles Program
Tiny Bundles is a Surrey Food Bank program specifically designed for pregnant moms and families with babies aged newborn to one year. Pregnancy and the first year of a baby’s life are critically important for healthy development. Through this program, the moms receive a food hamper as well as fresh eggs and milk while pregnant or nursing. The program helps to ensure that babies receive adequate formula, pablum and jarred baby food.
The Surrey Food Bank provides food related assistance to over 13,000+ low income residents in the areas of Surrey and North Delta. Over 43% are children and babies.
